The Navajo have used Agave plants as food and to create natural fibres for hundreds of years, and these plants are well-known as the source of various alcoholic beverages, including tequila and mezcal. As desert plants, Agave require lots of direct sunlight and well-draining soil, and should be allowed to dry between waterings.
