Scientific name: Saintpaulia Light Blue

The African violet was discovered in Tanzania in 1892, soon thereafter entering cultivation for its beautiful flowers and ease of growth. Due to the hairs on its leaves, the African violet should be watered only from the bottom, and should be given filtered or dappled sunlight to promote blooming.
